Homeless… But Never Hopeless!
February 16th, 2011 by Kim in NewLife | Tags: Support

Brr… it has been a cold & snowy winter here in the hills of Kentucky and I know that it has been in other parts of the world also. One specific place is in Akron, Ohio. There it is so very cold on the outside, but there have been many warm hearts and communities compliments of Stone Deliverance Temple and the community support groups in that area.
NewLife Industries has been blessed for years now to be able to supply clothing & jackets to those in need across the globe. But this year we were able to be a blessing to a community in Akron, right here in the United States, with warmth and hope through God’s love.
Highways & by-ways near Stone Deliverance Temple is just one of the many places in cities across our country with individuals that occupy abandoned train cars, make-shift tents, abandoned buildings or homes. These homeless build fires inside barrels or on the ground just to keep warm. There are also families that live in cars, vans, and under porches – anywhere they can find just a little shelter from the bitter cold. The living conditions are humbling, and eye opening. I understand why Jesus said “The poor are always with you.” The sad part is that some of these people are not deprived individuals. Some have chosen to divorce themselves from life as they once may have known it, and for some reason checked out of society.

El Loco
January 10th, 2011 by Amanda in Miscellaneous | Tags: Guest, InspirationThey called him “El Loco” – The crazy one!
I was with our team in Peru this month when I came face to face with El Loco. Separated from society because of behavioral and emotional problems, El Loco had few friends. He came to our medical staff for treatment as did hundreds of others the two days we remained in Colquepata.
On a Sunday morning service El Loco (Gregorio) came forward in our meetings and bowed on his knees to pray with church friends. Life was beginning anew and we rejoiced together for his new life with Christ in his heart.
For four days our team met literally hundreds of people for medical/dental and eye glasses needs. All received salvation tracts and many were prayed for. I remembered in the Bible how Jesus saw hungry multitudes as “sheep without a shepherd.” While our ministry team also gave Bibles to Quechua Pastors we had our eyes opened to the tremendous hunger among these people.
Along with meeting the many physical ailments we had the joy of sharing our testimonies and the Jesus film with many people in the communities we served.
Thanks so much for your prayers and financial support this past month.

Ministries Appreciation Banquet & Concert
November 20th, 2010 by Kim in NewLifeNovember 13, 2010 was a very special day for NewLife Industries. It was a day set aside for the local pastors, missionaries, and ministries to be honored and to show our appreciation for them.
The evening started with a banquet dinner and ended with a concert given by NewLife’s own Rick Sexton. As a prelude to the concert a slideshow of pictures given by different supported ministries was shown. Many weeks of preparation were needed to make this event possible. The band, Rick, Richard, and many others worked very hard and put much thought and prayer into the event so that all in attendance would be blessed and uplifted.
We are so very thankful for each and every one of the local pastors, missionaries, and ministry programs that work so very hard in and around our community.
One Day with God Camp
October 11th, 2010 by Kim in Ministry | Tags: Support
In September 2010 NewLife had the opportunity to sponsor 9 children for the ‘One Day With God’ camp at the Green River Correctional Facility in Central City, KY. This was the fifth annual day camp for this particular facility. The Day Camp is not state funded as it is considered a religious event, but is solely funded by volunteers and donations from those that are willing to give time & money.
The camp allows inmates and their children, some who have never met their parents, to spend a day playing games, talking, eating, singing, and gift giving. It gives each child and incarcerated parent one-on-one time that without this program they would never be blessed to have. The value of this program far outweighs the cost because not only does this give quality time for families but also it has helped so many get a new lease on life. For more information about One Day with God Camp near you or to receive more information on Forgiven Ministry, check out their website at ForgivenMinistry.org.
